Girly Bits Grandma Got Run Over by a John Deere

Technically this is a polish from Christmas (as you can probably tell by the name) and is the other half of the December COTM duo. From the Girly Bits website, Grandma Got Run Over by a John Deere is described as an "interesting shade of green that sits somewhere between dill pickle and pine. I know, strange description. It's an interesting colour. It has a squishy depth to it, with a strong copper shift, and is swimming with the tiniest holographic sparkles." This is spot-on. There's a lot happening in this polish, and all of it is amazing and awesome! The copper shift compliments the other half of this duo and it's a fun twist on a traditional Christmas color (deep green).

Grandma Got Run Over by a John Deere had a good formula; a little thick but in a good way. The first coat was a little sheer due it's jelly-like consistency, but the second coat was almost opaque. I added a third coat for good measure because you know me-- I'm like that!

See.how.pretty!! One of my kids' swim teachers actually complimented me on this! I love that. And she's not wrong, as this polish is really unique and beautiful. Even though green has never been my favorite polish color, I have really fallen in love with shifty green duochromes and this polish definitely falls into that category. It's complicated and gorgeous and I would seriously buy a whole range of polishes like this.

Girly Bits Xmas and O's

Rounding off the week I have another Girly Bits polish to share with you-- this time one of the December COTM polishes! Today's polish is Xmas and O's (now I'm singing that Elle King song!). This is described as a "sparkling rose gold foil" which is spot on. I can't really add more to than that. Rose gold has been a big trend for what, at least the past year? I feel I'm pretty behind-- I honestly think this is the first rose gold polish I have! But, I think it was a good place to start!

I don't have any complaints to report about the formula! I used three coats, but two probably have been ok. This was smooth and generally pretty easy to apply, though the polish was maybe a bit on the thicker side. In any case, it definitely wasn't difficult to work with.

This is so gorgeous. I wore this for several days longer than I normally would have because it's just so stunning. All I wanted to do was look at my nails... so pretty. It was hard not to stare at my nails! This held up really well despite how hard I am on my hands; I can see myself reaching for this bottle again many times in the future! 

Girly Bits Every Day I'm Truffling

Today I have the other half of Girly Bits November COTM duo: Every Day I'm Truffling! Figured I better break this one before it got too late and it felt appropriate for the grey weather we're currently stuck in. Every Day I'm Truffling is described as a "medium mushroom grey crelly with gold and pink shifting shimmer and purple shimmer." To my eyes, the pink shimmer is what stands out most strongly, though you maybe be able to catch the gold at other angles.

The formula was good; I certainly don't have any complaints. It went on smoothly and easily-- I used three coats but probably could have gotten away with two. Because it's a crelly a light touch helps avoid any streaks, though as far as I can remember this was fairly well pigmented.

I love how prominent the pink shimmer is! Grey can be a hard color to wear and the shimmer definitely gives this a little something extra. I'm glad it doesn't disappear into the base! I'm not sure this color really worked with my skin tone, but the pink shimmer makes it unique to my collection.

Girly Bits The Fuchsia Is Ours

Two weeks ago was the Women's March, which is the first overly political thing I have ever done in my life up to this point. I participated in with a group of friends and it was a great experience. I needed to wake up and shake off my apathy and privilege and this was the perfect way to to do it. Whatever your political beliefs, I think it's crucial to realize that yes, your voice does matter you can make a difference. Being involved and knowing what's going on is better for all of us!

I wanted to paint my nails pink for the march, and I knew I had a pink Girly Bits that was unused that would probably fit the bill. When I pulled it out and say the name was The Fuchsia Is Ours it was just perfect. The Fuchsia is Ours is described as a "bright pink holo with gold and orange shimmer." Being that Girly Bits is such a tried and true indie brand, I didn't expect to have any problems with this and indeed, I did not! This had a nice formula and went on smoothly. This was nicely pigmented, though I did use three coats to cover my giant nail beds (probably could have gotten away with two otherwise).

I love this pink! It's such a great color! It was super easy to use and it's such a beautiful color-- I fell in love! Sometimes you just need a good pink and fit perfectly. I was really happy with how this looked and it was just what I wanted for the march!

Girly Bits What Happens in Vegas... Ends Up on Twitter

Ugh, trying to get back in the groove of blogging. It's hard when you get out of practice for any length of time! This post was supposed to go up last month but I kept putting it off and off and here we are in November! Today I have this year's LE Cosmoprof shade from Girly Bits, the fourth in a series entitled What Happens in Vegas... Ends Up on Twitter. This was a LE shade released this summer for CosmoProf in Vegas, so if you missed, unfortunately you are probably out of luck for the time being (though previous shades have made a return before, so maybe it'll be released again in the future). Sorry it's taken me so long to get it up!

What Happens in Vegas.... Ends Up on Twitter is described as a "denim blue holo that shifts from pink to gold, with an added sprinkling of gorgeous aqua holographic glitter." I guess this is mostly accurate? I see a lot of purple in the demin blue base and I feel there's a slight overall green shift to the polish.I only used two coats here. I probably would have used three to be thorough, but the brush was giving me some fits and two coats looked pretty good. 

As you can see, my camera picks up a lot of purple, but its kind of a dusty blue-purple. I couldn't really catch of the shift but I did manage to get some of the turquoise (errr, aqua) glitters: 

Pardon the one chip and focus on the glitters! What Happens in Vegas.... Ends Up on Twitter is just gorgeous; I'm really glad I snagged this! These polishes never fail to disappoint! I can't wait to see what color Pam comes up with next year!

Girly Bits Sun Dog

For the life of me, I am just feeling so uninspired to write lately! It's a bummer because I really loved the polish that I am sharing with you today, but finding the words right now is so freaking hard! If you blog, do you ever go through periods like that? I guess I'm in a rut and need to find a way out of it! Not sure exactly what I'm going to do, but hopefully I can come up with something! Today's polish is one of the Girly Bits COTM polishes from August, Sun Dog. I really loved this duo (I'll have the other half to share with you later) but Sun Dog is the one I wanted to wear first. Not only is the color right up my alley, but the name, though totally unrelated, makes me think of my alma mater (UW), the mascot of which was originally the Sundodgers (get it, because it rains a lot in Seattle?!) and our current mascot, the Huskies, or as we also say, Dawgs. The strange things we think of when looking at a polish, am I right? 

Sun Dog is described as a "light golden copper shimmolo, with bronze micro flakes and copper shimmer." Think this is pretty straight forward and accurate, don't you? This is truly a color for all seasons, but I think the colors definitely capture the sun drenched, heat soaked days of summer and the golden, changing days of fall, so it's perfect as a summer to fall transition shade. But really, a metallic is always in season! The formula on this was good, which is generally what I expect for a Girly Bits polish. The first coat was a little sheer, but built up nicely and I used three coats for the coverage I wanted.

I'm a sucker for colors like this and so it's no surprise that I love this, a lot. The holo is gorgeous, I love the flakies... it's a flattering and wearable shade. I love everything about it! I think it will definitely be going on my "best of 2016" list!

On a programming note: I will probably be taking some time off blogging at the end of October due to some traveling. My grandma was recently diagnosed with cancer and while we're still getting details/information/a timeline, my sister and I have decided we need to spend some time with her so we'll be traveling to the Midwest this month to visit! I'm really looking forward to it and we'll see if I can get some content up and running before I leave, but I make no promises (except that I will definitely make sure I have a Purple Friday post planned)! Just wanted to let you guys know in case I vanish and you actually think "what the heck is going on?"

HPB Presents Glitter Topper: Girly Bits Black Eyed Susan

Today is a fun one! I haven't participated in a Hobby Polish Bloggers monthly nail art challenge in awhile, but when I saw that glitter toppers had been picked as the theme I knew exactly which polish I wanted to use. This is a bit surprising, because if you've read this blog for any length of time, you know I am not a glitter topper person. Rarely do I blog about them. I tend not to buy them and I rarely wear the few that I do own. However, the polish I'm sharing with you today, Girly Bits Black Eyed Susan, is one of THE very first indie polishes I ever bought-- and I've never worn it! So I felt like it was high time to use it. I actually had to search for this, because I had pulled it out to wear last fall (and never did) so it wasn't where it should have been and I had a few moments of panic! Luckily I was able to find it, so let's go!

Black Eyed Susan is clear base packed with different sizes of yellow glitter, as well as green and brown/rust colored glitter, to mimic the look of the flower it's named after. Even years later, this polish still flows pretty well and was maybe a touch thick but not terrible. The glitter came out of the bottle easily, though I did use the dabbing technique to spread it out over my nail. Here I layered it over one of the monthly mystery shimmers from Enchanted Polish, August 2016, which is a beige neutral with pink shimmer. I wanted to make sure all the glitters would stand out.

While I'm not totally in love with the finished product because I mistakenly grabbed an old bottle of top coat and got bubbles(!!) Black Eyed Susan stands the test of time and I think the polish itself looks great! I'm glad I used a neutral base because it helps the glitter stand out and gives it an autumnal feel. I got a lot of compliments on this! I'm really happy I finally pulled it out and wore it! I'm glad this theme came around when it did!

Girly Bits No Tan Lines

Today is Labor Day which traditionally is considered the "last day of summer" in the United States as school often starts immediately afterwards (though quite honestly I think there are a lot of schools that start before), but I'm not quite ready to let summer go. Our weather has been feeling differently, but I don't care! On that vein, the polish I have for you today is the other half of the July COTM from Girly Bits-- sporting an equally cheeky name, this is No Tan Lines!

No Tan Lines is descibed as a "medium orange coral low-medium density holo with red shimmer and gold glass fleck." I would say that's pretty accurate! I was actually surprised because I thought this would be orange, but it definitely looks more coral on me! Similarly to Suns Out Buns Out, this has a good formula and was easy to apply. It builds up nicely and I used three coats.

Of the July COTM duo, No Tan Lines was definitely my favorite! Whatever I felt was lacking in Suns Out Guns Out was definitely present in No Tan Lans and I loved wearing it. This is such a great summer color and I very well might pull it out during the upcoming winter months as well! I think I am going to be adding this polish to my 2016 favorites list!

Girly Bits Suns Out Buns Out

Today I have one of the two July COTM polishes from Girly Bits. Both of these polishes sport cheeky names and based on how we generally love to frolic in the sun and enjoy the warm weather and water. Sadly it looks like Seattle is currently in the downhill slide into fall (which I also love, but I'm always sad to see summer leave) so I'm going to have to live vicariously through my polishes. The first half of the July duo is Suns Out Buns Out (lol) which is described as a "bright Barbie fluorescent pink low density holo, with an array of gold shimmer and glass fleck." 

Like pretty much every Girly Bits polish I have used, I didn't have any problems with Suns Out Buns Out. I would say that formula was titch on the sheer side, but it was easy to apply, and built up smoothly. I used three coats here and that was perfect. No complaints! Well, ok, a minor one: I felt the shimmer was pretty prominent in the bottle but got a little lost on the nail.

I'm not sure how I feel about this polish. I think it's pretty, don't get me wrong, but I feel like it loses a little depth or dimension on the nail and looks a little "thin." I don't know. I love how it looks in bottle but I feel like it didn't totally transfer on the nail. I mean, I still like and think it's pretty, I just wish it retained some of the depth it had it bottle. So this ended up feeling a little flat to me, but hey, not every polish is going to work for every person, right? I think love the color and think it's a cute polish, it just didn't translate on the nail quite like I was hoping. Oh well!

Girly Bits Peach Slapped

Let's start the week with something simple and sweet! Today I have the other polish from from the June COTM duo from Girly Bits: Peach Slapped, which is a hilarious name. As the name implies, the color of this polish is peach, and I would call it a borderline neon peach creme. It's bright but definitely not a true neon.

Given the color, it's probably not a huge surprise that I had a few issues with this. I found it went on a bit streaky-- I used a light touch and needed three coats for my manicure below. Even at three coats I still had some streaks, though they weren't too obvious to the naked eye (or even my camera, though maybe you can see a thin spot on my ring finger). After with Here's Lagoon Atcha, the other half of the June duo, I had high hopes for this so it was a little bit of a let down, but I'm not majorly disappointed-- I was kind of expecting it just based on the way these colors normally are.

I like Peach Slapped a lot! It's the perfect summer color. I wish the formula had been a smidge better, but really, it wasn't too terrible. I enjoyed wearing this and look forward to seeing what future duos bring us!

Girly Bits Here's Lagoon Atcha

It's Wednesday! Hump day! And a the perfect day to have nice break, a breath of fresh air and enjoy the simple beauty of a gorgeous creme polish. Today I have Girly Bits Here's Lagoon Atcha, which is the one of two polishes from their new Colors of the Month series. These polishes will only be on sale for a limited time at the beginning of each month for preorder-- unfortunately, this was one of the June releases and is not currently available.

Here's Lagoon Atcha is described as a " bright aqua crelly" and even though this seems like it doesn't work with my whole teal theme-- to me, this polish looks way more turquoise/light teal than aqua, which to me would have a stronger blue tone. To my eyes, Here's Lagoon Atcha leans green, though some of that might be skin tone dependent (though personally I think it leans green in the bottle too). Being that this is a crelly, is does have a slightly thinner formula, but is still well pigmented. I found my first layer to be a bit streaky, and ended up using three thin coats to even it out. But no complaints, as it went on smoothly, dried quickly and didn't give me any real issues.

Personally, I loved this polish! I recently wore this on vacation and it lasted a full five with only minor tip wear! Technically seven days because I was too tired upon arriving back home to take it off, hah. So this is definitely a winner in my books, all the way around. I love a good creme and the color is beautiful, so I'm in love. Definitely looking forward to seeing more COTM duos from Girly Bits! Happy Wednesday all!

Girly Bits I Like Big Buns

(Ok, so you know I said I wasn't going to post on weekends... well, I have sooooo many Star Wars themed polishes that there are going to be some weekend posts. Mainly because I am planning out what I want to show you and it works better if I post every.single.day. We'll see how long I can keep this up! Odds are, I probably still won't post every day. [Never tell me the odds!]) 

Not going to lie, the name of this polish totally cracks me up and even it was wasn't Star Wars related I still might have to have it. Today I have Girly Bits I Like Big Buns, which, if the name isn't a clue enough already, is based on Princess Leia's iconic cinnamon bun hairstyle. This was one of the polishes that was released in the May 2015 A Box, Indied. Now, as my readers, you know that I am not a huge fan of brown polishes. I feel like they look chic on other people but not on me. However, I Like Big Buns has a gorgeous pink shimmer that really gives it character and depth and makes it unique among my collection. The deep brown has almost a hint of red to it, giving this polish even more depth.

The formula of I Like Big Buns was ok; not great but not terrible. The first coat was a little sheer, but it built up nicely. Two coats probably would have been ok if I had slightly smaller nails, but I needed three coats for the coverage I wanted. Though it was a bit sheer initially, it was easy to work with.

My pictures of I Like Big Buns aren't the greatest, but hopefully you are able to see the shimmer. This polish is much more stunning in real life. I think it definitely captures the feeling of Leia and her hair. It's unique and gorgeous!

Girly Bits More Cowbell

I have also had this polish kicking around for awhile (because I'm a terrible person). And it's even another Girly Bits polish! Today I have More Cowbell, which was actually from the 2013 Fall collection-- the whole collection was inspired by TV shows and in particular, this polish was inspired by the famous Chistopher Walken "more cowbell" sketch on SNL. (And if you haven't seen this, please go watch it ASAP!) I think I picked up this polish when it was on sale at Girly Bits because they were retiring it, so unfortunately it's unavailable now. (Though it is still available for sale at Harlow & Co if you decide you can't live without it.)

More Cowbell is described as a "steel blue gray with tightly scattered holo with blue iridescent flakies." I initially thought the blue flakies were microglitters, but I need to go back and look at my bottle to be 100% sure. They are lost in my photos, unfortunately, but they do add some nice depth to this polish. I wore this back in December, so I honestly don't remember a whole lot about it, other than that I don't recall having any issues. I am pretty sure I used three coats here, though most likely you could get away with two.

I am so in love with this polish. This is probably the type of holo finish I love the most-- the soft wash of holo that gives it such a warm, glowy look. I wish I could find real paint like this! But anyway, I digress. I'm so glad I picked up this polish because it's gorgeous and the finish is basically everything I want. Love love love it!

Girly Bits What Happens in Vegas... Ends up on Snapchat

Hey look, another brand I haven't posted about in awhile! I don't know why I don't have more Girly Bits polishes, honestly. They are a tried and true indie brand and consistently have great collections (and beautiful polishes) so I really need to rectify that situation. But the ones I do have are great! This is another exclusive polish to the 2015 One Night in Vegas collection. Confession: I don't actually use Snapchat. It makes me feel old! Hahaha...! But it is the social media app of today! And I enjoy other people's Snapchats, so keep it up people!

What Happens in Vegas... Ends Up on Snapchat is described as a "light silvery lilac linear holographic polish, accented with holographic microglitter." In my mind I have this as a pink, but nope, it's definitely purple. Given that it's been a really, really, really long time since I wore this, I've forgotten a lot of things-- mainly, anything about the formula! Knowing Girly Bits, I probably only needed two coats and I doubt I had any trouble with it. I had also forgotten how strong the holo effect was! I am now feeling the need to dig this out and wear it again! The microglitter does get a little lost in my photos, but you might be able to see a few specks! With Daily Hues Adele from last week, and another polish I will show you later this week-- I am really digging holos with microglitter! The microglitter adds a nice dimension to the polish rather than just being a standard holo.

This is such a pretty polish and the formula is great! I wish my pictures were a bit better, so I guess that's another reason to find this polish and wear it again. This was a limited edition polish so unfortunately it's not available anymore but there are tons of other gorgeous Girly Bits polishes available for you to peruse if you haven't tried the brand yet!

Girly Bits Selfie Bomb

Let's get our week started with some sparkle!! Of course, after a couple stellar weeks of posting, now I'm back to my old habits (and being tired) so I'm not on top of posting any more! (And things were pretty busy because it was Easter this past weekend, so I'm behind. We haven't even done our weekly grocery shopping yet, ack!) Today I have an oldie (but goodie) to share with you: Selfie Bomb, which was originally released in 2014 as part of the What Really Happened in Vegas Collection-- which is a collection that Pam puts out based on all the nail ladies getting together at CosmoProf in Vegas every year (well, so far there have been two of them). Anyway, on to the polish!

Selfie Bomb is described as a "sparkly gold holo micro glitter shimmer combination accented with pink and lavender microglitter." It certainly is sparkly! Because it's been awhile since I wore this, I think I used three coats to get the opaque coverage I wanted. It's no secret that I love a gold nail polish, and this hits all the right buttons. This was easy to apply and dried quickly, so no issues there!

I did wear this awhile ago in real life, but I still think it's awesome. Luckily, this polish is still readily available if you are craving something gold and sparkly! Because really, sometimes you just need to let your inner magpie (oooohh! shiny!) come out to play. Beautiful!

Girly Bits Fathomless

Today I have a fun polish to share with you! This is Girly Bits Fathomless! This is an older polish, released back in 2013 as part of the "Season of Sparkle" collection. It was recently on sale and is now retired-- I snatched it up on a whim even though greens tend not to be my thing. The Girly Bits website describes Fathomless as a "deep teal, with glowy blue/green micro glitters that peek through the jelly lacquer." PS-- I think it's awesome that the GB website lists retired polishes, along with a shade description and the collection it was released in?! So helpful for those of us who are crazy like this.

This had a great formula. It definitely felt a bit jelly-like in its consistency, just a touch on the thick side. With the first coat, I got pretty good coverage but few sheer spots towards the tips of my nails-- a second coat evened everything out no problem! Fathomless dried fairly quickly down to a more matte finish, so definitelu need a top coat to make this nice and glossy. Luckily it's not a very thirsty polish and one layer of top coat was all I needed to make it smooth and shiny.

I took few photos with my iPhone to better capture the shimmer, because I couldn't photograph it properly at night with my camera. 

I personally think this is a great Christmas polish and I'm pleasantly surprised at how much I love this color, given that it's not really my wheelhouse (green, near-black). But there's something about the sparkle and flash and how it never looks quite black that snuck up on me and sunk its claws in-- so I love this! It's greenish blue, blueish green, shimmery, dark and deep-- love it!

Purple Friday: Fairytale Finish A Fairytale Began and Girly Bits Selfie Bomb

Another Friday, another late post. Sorry! Tonight's a real quickie because everything has gone to hell in a handbasket with my husband's work, which is no fun for either of us. So basically, no one is happy. Tomorrow the Huskies play the Utah Utes. They are currently ranked #12, so it has the potential to be a challenging game, though the teams are fairly evenly matched on paper. Should be an interesting game, which we hopefully win!

I was having trouble deciding on a manicure this week and tore up the house looking for a polish that I then ended up not using at all. Ah well! At least I found the polish I was looking for. I settled for a simple accent nail this week, something I haven't done in awhile, so that works out well! I went through my purples and picked out Fairytale Finish A Fairytale Began, which is from the Fairytale Finish one year anniversary duo. It was a little streaky on the first coat but evened out nicely with two coats-- I ended up using three to cover a few thin spots. For my gold accent nail, I used Girly Bits Selfie Bomb, which was released last year and is a gold holo microglitter. It is a little sheer but builds up nicely-- I used three coats here. Both dry down quickly (I've actually worn Selfie Bomb alone before and will review it later). A Fairytale Began ended up being a little darker than I initially wanted, but it still looks good!

Purple Friday: Purple Gradient

Hey all! It's time for another installment of Purple Friday! Today I have some purple nail art to share with you! This week the Dawgs take on the Aggies of Utah State (what's an Aggie, anyway?), which just happens to be my mother-in-law's alma mater! So as a birthday present my husband and I bought her tickets to the game and are throwing a tailgate to celebrate and both our families are coming up to party. Should be a fun time! I decided that because this was a special occasion, I should do something fun and not just a plain old purple! 

I went out through my purple polish box and pulled out three different shades of purple to use in my gradient. First I decided to use Different Dimension Grus, a light lilac holographic, as my base and then I sponged that, Girly Bits Protect Your Girly Bits, and ILNP Contraband on top of it. I had to go over it a couple of times, but it was pretty easy to apply. I was trying to use Protect Your Girly Bits as a transition shade between Grus and Contraband but I had trouble seeing it. I think it does help, but gets a little lost because Contraband is so dark.

I'm not totally in love with my gradient skills-- something I need to work on! And how do people clean this up? I swear I'm incompetent at the actual clean up portion of painting my nails. Once it gets on my cuticles, it's game over-- I can't get it off! But I hope you can overlook that and just look at the pretty purple polishes!

Purple Friday: Girly Bits Protect Your Girly Bits

Onto our second Purple Friday post of the season! We had a really fun time traveling to Boise for the first game of the season, even though we did lose. Boise has a cute downtown area and the food and drinks were good (and cheap!) and we got some rest away from the kids. So aside from the loss, it was an excellent trip. Can't win 'em all, right?

This week we have our home opener and are playing Sacramento State. This game should be a gimme, but you never know these days! This week it's an early game (kickoff at 11am!) so we're doing a mimosa tailgate! Yum! I figured Protect Your Girly Bits was a good polish to start off a home stretch, especially with the name, haha! PYGB is a gorgeous, medium grape purple with a nicely balanced holographic finish. Not too strong and not too subtle; perfect for a morning game on a sunny day! The formula was a breeze-- PYGB partically painted itself on my fingers! I needed two coats.

I know Protect Your Girly Bits looks very similar to my polish from last week, Enchanted Polish August 2015 but PYGB is slightly darker and less silverly. I swear! This is so gorgeous and the formula is impeccable. Girly Bits does not disappoint! I can't believe this is only the second time I've used Girly Bits-- a situation that needs to be rectified asap!

Purple Friday: Girly Bits Seriously Sassy

Hey all! I have a Purple Friday post this week because, ta-da, the Huskies play in Cactus Bowl tonight against Oklahoma State! So of course I had to paint my nails purple for the occasion! But which purple to wear? I have so many that I haven't worn yet!

After polling several outlets, I settled on Girly Bits Seriously Sassy as my purple polish of the moment (top left). The Girly Bits website describes this polish as "a royal purple jelly, with blue to purple colour shifting glitter." I would add that there's some pink in there too, but the blue dominants and make the polish lean blue or blurple. The description of this also calls it a jelly, and while it does have a jelly-like consistency, it covers very well and I only needed two coats (the website suggests 2-3 coats).

Seriously Sassy definitely needs a top coat as it dries down to a matte finish-- I actually used two because the first coat wasn't as shiny as I wanted, though the glitter wasn't eating through the top coat (it was still smooth to the touch).

Given that this is a purple and a blue leaning purple at that, it wanted to give me trouble so I was fooling around a bit with my camera (I am clearly no expert here... if I ever have time again, this is one of my goals) to try and get photos that more accurately capture color. They still don't do Seriously Sassy justice, and are slightly blurred on the edges but I feel capture the color a bit better. In any case, the polish actually looks purple and not blue. You can see the blue glitter in the purple base.

Artificial light (flash):

This purple IS seriously sassy! In low light it is very dark, but you can tell it's not black. In other lighting situations, it just glows and has an electric quality to it. I'm definitely smitten.
