Lush Lacquer Perky Plum

Another day, another polish I bought that was showcased over at Fashion Footing. This is Lush Lacquer Perky Plum. My first Lush Lacquer polish! Perky Plum is described as a "plum jelly base with teal, gold and cranberry glitters in different shapes and sizes." To me it also seems like the jelly base has some shimmer in it.

I decided to layer Perky Plum over Julep Lucy. I was thinking Lucy was more of a plum purple, but it's a deep oxblood red. In any case,  I used one coat here and it covered the base pretty well. It was pretty easy to apply Perky Plum, thought I did mostly dab it on to get the glitter placed.

This is definitely unique to my collection, that's for sure. I'd really like it and I definitely would buy from Lush Lacquer again.

Cult Nails Flushed

Saving the best for last, today I have the final polish from the Cult Nails Behind Closed Doors collection, Flushed! This polish is amazing and even better in real life. Flushed is described as a "true "blurple" (blue/purple) buildable sheer with an intense purple/pink shimmer effect that appears to glow through the polish."

The formula on Flushed was good. They call it a buildable sheer, and it is. The first coat is fairly sheer, but I've only used two coats in my photos and you can see that you get excellent coverage. The shimmer is intense and beautiful. Of course, being a purple, it has photographed a little bit too light, though in general seems to be awkward. Otherwise it photographs too blue.

Swoon! Flushed is amazing!! I love this polish sooooo much. This is a limited edition shade, and I'm really tempted to buy a back-up, which is something I rarely consider.

Cult Nails Coveted

Tonight I have Cult Nails Coveted, which is the fourth polish from the Behind Closed Doors Collection Coveted is described as a "jelly, deep green with metallic green flakes and subtle green shimmer." This was probably one of the polishes I was most intrigued by when the collection was preview, but I'll share some more thoughts on that later.

Coveted is described as a jelly, which I usually associate with slightly sheer coverage, but this covered really well and was almost opaque in one coat. I have used two coats here. The color is gorgeous and it's so shimmery! The flakies are more sparse and need to placed on the nail to get them placed evenly across the nail.

I really wanted to like this polish. And I don't necessarily dislike it, per say, I just wish it was a little different. Mainly, I take issue with the flakies. I found that they had a tendency to drag toward the edge of my nail and they didn't always want to lie flat. I love the shimmer, but I wish there were either no flakies at all, or more.

Cult Nails Disciplined

Today I have the next polish from the Cult Nails Behind Closed Doors collection, Disciplined. This polish is described as a "sheer but buildable soft grey with purple, pink and blue shimmer." This polish looks very light and soft and I really like that. However, I absolutely LOATHE the name! Mostly because I feel like it's too close to that stupid book, 50 Shades of Grey-- which I refuse to read. Anyway, while I dislike the name, I really like the polish!

Here I have used three coats of Disciplined here. It is pretty sheer, though it does build up. I purposely used thinner coats because I like it on the sheer side, though I feel that this shade of grey is not necessarily the best with my skin tone. But I like how soft it looks. In any case, the formula on Disciplined was good and I didn't have any issues.

Look at that shimmer! Gorgeous! I love this polish.

Cult Nails After Glow

Sorry for the lack of posts this week! After being organized for one full week... I couldn't repeat it! Just one of those weeks, I guess. And tonight is the series finale for Fringe (one of the best shows on TV!) and I just sobbed my way through the last ten minutes-- we're talking ugly crying here.

Tonight I have one of the polishes from the Cult Nails Behind Closed Doors collection-- After Glow. Sexy! This is a gorgeous metallic copper polish, described as a "deep copper with intense pink shimmer." In the bottle, After Glow has duochrome flash-- the pink shimmer shifts to gold.

I found the formula on After Glow to be a little on the thin side, and it goes on fairly sheer in the first coat. But it builds up nicely-- I used three coats here. I think it's really pretty, but I felt the pink shimmer was a little lost on the nail, and there definitely doesn't seem to much of a color shift either. So this was somewhat of a disappointment after seeing it in the bottle, but I still think it's stunning. Very flashy and shiny in person.

Ugh, not a fan of my photos here. Sorry about that! I need to reswatch this. You can at least the flashes of pink in the polish!

Cult Nails Bitten

Tonight I have the first polish from the Cult Nails Behind Closed Doors collection, which was originally released in November. This is Bitten, a raspberry glass flecked polish. I love polishes like this! Beautiful and easy to use!

Bitten is one of those polishes that has more depth the more coats you use, and the thickness of those coats. The first time I wore this, I didn't apply it quite evenly enough and I had a few nails that were slightly lighter or darker. But the formula on Bitten was great-- no problems at all. Depending on how deep you want to make the color, this could actually be a one coater!

Gorgeous!! I love how pretty this is. I've worn this already as a full manicure and it's so pretty and feminine. A lovely polish for winter!
