OPI I Have A Herring Problem

Tonight I have another polish from a brand I haven't showcased in awhile-- OPI! I Have A Herring Problem is a polish from OPI's Holland Collection, which was released this spring. I saw a display in a local drug store chain on the way to work one morning and snatched it up. Of course, it's been sitting in a drawer for a least a month (or two) since then, but I recently remembered it and decided to swatch it. Of all the polishes in the display, I gravitated towards this polish for two reasons. One, it's blue (and a unique one at that) and secondly I love the name, on two levels. One because I work in hearing research and also because I'm Scandinavian and we eat a lot of herring. So there ya go!

I Have A Herring Problem is a steely blue-grey polish with gold shimmer. The formula is a little on the sheer side, but I only needed to use two coats to get opaque coverage, so it builds up nicely. Even with the shimmer, it dries to a nice relatively smooth and shiny finish-- I'm not wearing a top coat in the photos below.

I love how stormy this polish looks. To me, this polish evokes storm clouds brewing over Lake Michigan on a hot and humid summer's day. I love that I Have A Herring Problem gives me that reaction. This color seems pretty unique to me (though there are some similar ones out there) and I don't have very many polishes like it in my collection.

  1. I Love the Holland Collection and could probably handle owning all of them:) So far I have Pedal Faster Suzi, Gouda Gouda Two Shoes, and Thanks a WindMillion. I would love I Have a Herring Problem, I Don't Give a Rotterdam, and Dutch Ya Just Love OPI.

  2. Oh, this is one of those denim colors I keep hearing about! It looks nice on you. And yes, you pretty much had to have this on account of just the name. ;)
