Julep Charlotte

Tonight's polish is Julep Charlotte, which is a polish I got in my March Maven box. Usually I'm an "American Beauty" but I really wasn't feeling one of the colors in that box so I decided to change over to "It Girl" instead. Charlotte was one of the polishes that was included in my box! I swatched this almost a month ago and then it got set aside as I did other things. But here she is now!

Julep describes Charlotte as a "demur lavender. Sophisticated with a twist. Elegant on a manicure." Charlotte is not a bright purple-- it has some grey in it and lavender is an excellent description. Like most Julep cremes, this polish is excellently pigmented and went on like a dream. This was almost good in one coat, but I used two because I noticed some thin spots with just one coat. I know a lot of people complain about Julep's price point (which I understand) but these creme polishes practically paint themselves on and I love that.

This picture makes the polish a bit too red.

For me, I didn't feel like this color was springy because it was too greyed out... but now I'm not sure why I said that. This is a perfectly pretty purple polish (try saying that five times fast!) and as I look at these pictures I love how soft this is. I like it when polishes that aren't "standard" can be soft and not necessarily super bold.

  1. I love this polish! It seems a nice purple for all seasons to me. Its light enough to be springy and with that touch of grey I think it would be lovely in the fall as well. I think I am adding charlotte to my wish list :)
