Tonight I have an overview of the Julep Maven It Girl Intro Box. Awhile ago, Julep tweeted that they were starting a VIP Blogger program and I volunteered to review a box. I have been a Maven for almost a year now and I love this program. So what is it? Well, you go to the Julep site, take a style quiz and then sign up to receive your monthly Maven box. For $19.95 a month you get $40 worth of polish and other various beauty products, along with other perks on the Julep website-- like 20% all other purchases and free shipping! What's not to love? You can also switch your box if you want to try another style, add-on additional polishes or beauty items or even skip a month (or send it to a friend) if you feel so inclined. I really like how Julep has adjusted this program from feedback and I'm sure it will continue to get better and better.
I chose the It Girl box to review, which contains only polish products. I love the way Julep packages their boxes! They're always so cute and neatly done.
The polishes in this box included Daisy, a bright lemon yellow creme:
Daisy was a little streaky which is pretty typical with yellow polishes, however this was only three coats, which is pretty good! I love how bright and happy this is. I like that this is just a straight up yellow creme polish without any shimmer. It's like having sunshine on your fingers!
Sasha, a fresh cantaloup melon creme:
Sasha is a color I love-- a pink toned melon. This was nicely pigmented, but also a little streaky. I used three coats here, though two would have probably been good. This is one of my go-to polish colors for summer and I can't get enough of these colors.
Lily, a hot sizzling fuchsia creme:
Lily is super smooth and easy to use (I've reviewed it on the blog before). It has a creme/jelly (or "crelly") formula and is a dream to work with. You might be able to get away with one coat, but there is a tiny hint of visible nail line and two coats is perfect!
And look, I even attempted some nail art using these colors! This was my first time attempting something like this and it's not as great as I had hoped it would be, but I'm pretty pleased with it!
Additionally, Julep is giving away an intro Maven box to one of you! Fill out the Rafflecopter form below and you're entered to win. The giveaway ends July 30, 2012. If you're interested in signing up to be a Maven, use the code MAVENINTRO to get your first box for $0.01!
