Julep Stella

The Julep polish parade continues (there is an end in sight, I promise). Today's polish is Julep Stella. I received this because I won a twitter giveaway from Amanda at Fashion Footing and she noticed this was on my wishlist and sent it to me! Awesome!

Julep describes Stella as "mustard yellow. Yes, you CAN wear this on your hands! It might even match your new purse." And really, what else can I say? While this isn't the bright yellow of French's, mustard yellow is exactly how I would describe this. I don't know when this was released, but the color is pretty on trend right now.

The formula on Stella, though, is not stellar. I mean, the polish is pretty pigmented for a yellow polish but it's very streaky. I needed three coats to even it out and I still wasn't completely satisfied that it was streak-free, but too lazy to put on another coat. Luckily, the camera didn't seem to pick it up, so perhaps I was imagining it.

Stella is very similar to another polish I have, American Apparel Manila. They're both streaky mustard yellows. I need to do a side-by-side comparison. I really like this funky color, which is kind of ugly-pretty. I just wish the formula was a bit better! I do like this though, so thanks to Amanda!
