Tonight I have another Julep polish for you (get ready, I have a LOT of them lined up right now). Tonight's polish is Blake, which I got as a part of a 2-for-1 deal Julep ran back in February. Blake is a lovely pale pastel yellow-- Julep describes is as a "sunny yellow. Creamy and buttery yet fat-free." I don't know about you guys, but Blake totally screams "baby" to me. Maybe because I've got babies on the brain but this looks like baby pastel yellow. Anyway...
Blake is pretty much a standard yellow creme, which means it's a little streaky. I used three coats here, and thankfully three coats was enough to even out the streaks. I still don't think it was perfect, but pretty close.
Artificial light with flash:
Artificial light:
This picture makes Blake look a little green, which isn't accurate.
Natural light - shade:
Blake is a nice springy shade-- brings to mind baby chicks, daffodils, sun-- all those great things. It's a very cheerful and happy color. Of course, I wish it wasn't so streaky, but that's par for the course yellows.
Pretty! I have this in my "need to swatch stash" but haven't gotten around to it yet.
