Tonight's polish is Julep Taylor. I picked this up somewhere along the line when Julep had a 2-for-1 sale (apparently the same sale where I picked up Blake, which you've seen already). Taylor is described by Julep as a "deep, sky blue crème. Somewhere between periwinkle and denim funky, but not too flashy." To my eyes I really wouldn't call this sky blue-- it definitely leans more periwinkle to me and is distinctly "blurple" in my eyes.
Like most other Julep cremes, Taylor had a great formula and great pigmentation and was completely opaque in two coats. My only complaint is that I think all the pigment was mixed up and there's some streakiness (at least in my mind... maybe I'm crazy).

This last picture is a just a little too bright.

I think this is a really pretty blurple, but I need to make sure the pigment is all mixed in the next time I use it. Taylor also photographed a lot bluer and brighter than it is in real life.
My Taylor wasn't mixed all the way either. I haven't use it yet, though... But it is a pretty color!
ReplyDeleteGlad to know I wasn't the only one-- it's kind of annoying though, especially because the Julep bottles are difficult to shake up. I would definitely shake it up for a couple of days before you use it. It is a pretty color, though!
