Julep Renee

Ok, here is the last polish from my April Maven box (and then a break from Julep, I promise!). This is Julep Renee. Julep describes Renee as a "spring lilac creme. Surprisingly ladylike." Renee, similar to the polishes from Zoya's Feel Collection, is a pretty light purple that's got nice color but not so bright or in your face that you couldn't get away with this at an office (I think... but then, I can basically wear whatever I want on my nails to work, so I might not have the right perspective). It's a color, but still fairly neutral if you need something other than a nude or a pink. Ladylike is right.

Renee was pretty standard in terms of formula-- nicely pigmented and easy to work with. Two coats gave good even coverage and all my photos were taken without a top coat.

Renee is such a lovely pale lavender purple. Again, this is very similar to another polish I already have, Zoya Megan from the Feel Collection. However, again, I feel like Renee is pretty much a straight purple (with white) while Megan has a lot of grey in it. Need to do a side by side comparison, though!

  1. It does look close to Megan! Pretty color!

  2. Julep and their gorgeous colors. I've just heard too many bad things about their customer service. I'm really enjoying your swatches, though.. I would have gotten Eva and Renee if I'd have stuck with them.

    1. Thanks! I have to say that in my own experiences, I have never had issues with Julep. However, I know a lot of people during their initial Maven phase and I totally understand why it has left a bad taste in a lot of people's mouths. I think they have gotten better but I know it turned a lot of people off the brand.

    2. I actually quit because their colors just don't last on me, and eventually weren't worth it, even for the Maven price. I had no issues myself with them or their service (and I told them as much when I cancelled) but I have a friend who has. It just seems that they're not very consistent when it comes to dealing with problems.
