Last week (Thursday), the NY Times hosted a debate about the nail polish as part of their "Room for Debate" section. Seven writers hold forth about why nail polish has become so popular and mainstream. My all time favorite nail polish blogger, Michelle Mismas of All Lacquered Up, contributed an article to the debate.
You can read the debate here and all there are some interesting articles and the comments are even more interesting. I have to say I was a little surprised at some of the comments people made, but everyone is entitled to their opinions. I personally think nail polish (especially brightly colored polish) is a great (and temporary) way to express yourself and have some fun with your wardrobe without necessarily needing to spend a ton of money-- being able to incorporate current fashion trends without going broke.
What are your thoughts on nail polish?
I was also surprised at the comments. It was as if this article was written 40 years ago. If this is what they say about women wearing polish, imagine what they would say about me! I feel that women that have perfectly polished nails are showing they care about themselves and how they look.
