Zoya Zahara

I feel like last week featured a lot of darker polishes and since we finally seem to be getting some spring (in the PNW anyway) let's break out some brighter colors! Speaking of brands I haven't featured in awhile-- Zoya!! I haven't posted about a Zoya in for-ev-er! But when I saw the photos of the Spring Petals collection, I knew I wanted them all. The colors felt very springy and cheerful and appealed to me so I actually bought the whole set during the preorder, which is something I rarely do with Zoya these days. When the polishes arrived and I opened them up, Zahara was the first one I immediately wanted to wear.

Zahara is described as a "brilliant shimmering coral made modern with an opalescent effect." Which, yes, that's pretty much the polish in a nutshell. The formula was just ok. Zahara is a bit on the thick side, while also being a little bit sheer. It's not necessarily difficult to work with, but it's the type of formula that could lend itself to looking uneven on the nail if you're not careful. I didn't really have any issues while applying it, but did have to use three coats to get the coverage I wanted. Even still, there is a hint of visible nail line, but it didn't really bother me.

I think Zahara is lovely and perfect for spring. I think the shimmer really elevates this polish and makes it fun-- I love how summery it is. Coral is definitely on of my favorite nail colors for spring and summer. I wish the formula was a bit better, but it's not awful by any means and definitely workable. This is definitely one of my favorites from the collection!

  1. Zoya is one of my favorite brands, but this collection was not a big hit. The polish is nice but really doesn't make me want to buy it.
